Frequently Asked Questions about
Shenango on the Green
Q: What is the connection to the Presbyterian Church?
A: In 1966, the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church
U.S.A. recognized a need for housing for older adults and approved
the incorporation of the Shenango Home. In the mid-nineties, our
community's needs began to change. Shenango on the Green was
planned to address these needs. Shenango on the Green was
developed by Shenango Presbyterian SeniorCare, a private
not-for-profit organization that maintains close ties as a mission unit
of Shenango Presbytery. Sheango on the Green welcomes all faiths and denominations. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color or creed.
Q: Are pets allowed at Shenango on the Green?
A: Yes. Certain restrictions do apply.
Q: Are there special facilities for smokers?
A: In order to promote a healthy living environment for everyone, no smoking is permitted in common areas (i.e., dining rooms, parlors, etc). Certain restrictions apply for smoking in individual apartments.
Q: May I have overnight guests?
A: Yes. Apartment residents are welcome to have overnight guests at no charge. However, residents must be present when guests are staying overnight. One (1) week is the maximum continuous stay for guests unless prior approval is obtained from management. There are several bed and breakfasts nearby.
Q: Is there a resident association or council?
A: Yes. Shenango on the Green features an active resident council. All residents are encouraged to participate.
Q: Can I bring my own furniture?
A: Yes. The apartments at Shenango on the Green are unfurnished. Appliances, carpeting, and window treatments will be provided, but we encourage you to bring all the special things that will make your new apartment your new home.
